Three New Lithium-Ion Cells for Wearables and Hearables

Anyone who does sports and wants to monitor or increase their performance relies more and more on smart devices. As practical training aids, wearables and hearables are already standard in many sports. One of the biggest challenges remains the collection of accurate and continuous data sets of vital data in everyday life. Reliable batteries are therefore indispensable for successful use. They determine the performance and service life of the mini-computers and gadgets.

And the demands continue to grow: portable devices are becoming ever more powerful, but at the same time ever smaller and lighter. The power supply with batteries has to adapt accordingly.

VARTA Microbattery presents its new CoinPower series. These include three new flat lithium-ion cell types: The CP 0854, CP9440 and CP7840. Their cylindrical shape and high energy density make them an ideal energy source for wearables and hearables.

"The new cells are the result of our ongoing miniaturization efforts. This benefits manufacturers because they can make their devices smaller and flatter," says Matthias Dorsch, Product Manager VARTA Microbattery GmbH.

The button cells with high capacity and fast charging capability can be easily mounted in end devices. The strong steel housing of the cells ensures a high tolerance to shocks and vibration.
