Standex-Meder Electronics

Standex-Meder Electronics is a worldwide market leader in the design, development and manufacture of standard and custom electro-magnetic components, including magnetics products and reed switch-based solutions.

The magnetic offerings include planar, Rogowski, current, and low- and high-frequency transformers and inductors. The reed switch-based solutions include reed switches, as well as a complete portfolio of reed relays, and a comprehensive array of fluid level, proximity, motion, water flow, HVAC condensate, hydraulic pressure differential, capacitive, conductive and inductive sensors.

  1. 14.11.2023 - Smaller and more compact than ever before: The SHV Reed Relay Series from Standex Electronics

    The SHV Reed Relay Series is an improved version of the SIL-HV Reed Relay, which is smaller and more compact. An internal magnetic shield provides high shielding for densely packed matrix arrangements.
     
    With a high breakdown voltage and a contact resistance of 70 mOhm, the new SHV relay is ideal for high-voltage applications in the field of test and measurement technology. Further improvements include a higher rated power of 100 W, a switching voltage of 1000 VDC, a switching current of 1 A and an insulation and breakdown voltage of up to 4 kVDC. The insulation resistance between coil and contact is 10 TOhm, and there is also an optional protective diode.
     
    The overmolding has made the relay significantly more resistant to the manufacturing process and everyday use, especially against moisture. Improved resistance is particularly important when using environmentally friendly cleaning agents after the soldering process.
     
    The new SHV relays are RoHS-compliant and are currently in the process of UL certification.

  2. 17.10.2022 - Compact design: The DIP and SIL Reed Relays from Standex Electronics

    With the DIP and SIL series, Standex Electronics offers a range of compact reed relays for a wide variety of applications, ideally suited for universal use in alternvative energy, medical equipment, telecommunications or test and measurement.
     
    Different contact types such as 1A/NO (SPST-N.O.), 1B/NC (SPST-N.C.), 1C/Contact (SPDT) or 2A/NO (DPST-N.O.) offer the right function for every application. With a rated power of max. 50 W and available coil voltages of 3, 5, 12, 15 or 24 volts, there are sufficient reserves as well as extensive possibilities for the circuit layout.
     
    The SIL series reduces the required space by another 50%. This series is also available as an HF version and thus enables interference-free operation in measuring device testing with switching signals up to 1.5 GHz.
     
    UL certification for both series is a matter of course at Standex Electronics, making them suitable for use in international business.

  3. 02.03.2022 - Approach desired: The Standex Meder SMD Reed Sensor MK31

    With the MK31 from Standex Meder Electronics you will find one of the smallest reed sensors for SMD assembly in our range. The sensor with normally open contact (SPST-N.O.) is ideally suited for on/off switching or for use in applications with proximity, motion or position detection.

    Tape & Reel packaging in accordance with IEC 286/part 3 ensures smooth processing in the assembly process. The UL approval also makes the component interesting for international projects.

  4. 13.10.2021 - For high isolation reed relay applications: The KT Series

    From the market leader in design, development and production of standard and custom electromagnetic components and solenoid products, the KT series of reed relays is now available for highly isolated applications.

    The KT series is ideal for environmentally friendly applications, such as photovoltaic technology or hybrid vehicles. It is particularly useful when measuring insulation resistance across multiple components in a solar installation before connecting to the grid to prevent injury and subsequent leakage currents.

    The relays provide an insulation resistance of greater than or equal to 1010 Ω and an insulation voltage between coil and contact of greater than 7 kV DC. Measuring only 30 x 8.6 x 10.6 mm (L x W x H), these high insulation properties are offered in an extremely small component. The series is available with three coil voltages (5 V, 12 V and 24 V), and all three versions are available in both SMT and THT versions.

    The components are manufactured in a fully molded package and are suitable for switching voltages
    up to 1000 V.

    The KT series is ideal for environmentally friendly applications such as photovoltaic technology or hybrid vehicles. It is particularly useful for measuring insulation resistance across multiple components in a solar system prior to connection to the grid to prevent injury and leakage.

    The KT series offers an insulation resistance greater than or equal to 1013 Ω as well as an insulation voltage between coil and contact of more than 7 kV DC voltage. With dimensions of only 30 x 8.6 x 10.6 mm (L x W x H), these high insulation properties are offered in an extremely small component. The series is available with three coil voltages (5 V, 12 V and 24 V), and all three versions are available in both SMD and THT versions. The components are manufactured in a completely molded housing and are suitable for switching voltages up to 1000 V. The components are available as SMD and THT versions.

    Like all highly insulated reed relays from Standex Electronics, the KT series has dynamically tested contacts and is capable of performing millions of reliable switching operations. The series complies with the RoHS directive and is available now in our store.
